To assist I will share suggestions and ideas from ACUHO-I friends and s/heroes. Take these ideas to action by reflecting and planning in ways that meet your needs. Modify, finesse and develop each idea to work for you and your unique needs and goals. Choose actions that excite you, push you, scare you and move you forward. This could be your best ACE ever!

Determine your ACE Goals.
What do you want to do, achieve, learn, acquire, bring back to your team? Who do you want to meet, connect, hear speak, help, invite, celebrate or see? How will you engage, volunteer, participate, relax, rejuvenate, give, and add value? Think about these things now so you can be intentional with your time and talent.
Please share your best conference goal setting advice, tools, techniques & apps! Thanks!

Thanks for the reminder to be thinking ahead!
1) For first time delegates I suggest attending the New Delegate Orientation on the first night of the conference. Meet other folks and learn about ACUHO-I traditions.
2) It is important to consider what you want to get out of this confernece experience. What sessions, connections and opportunities will situate you to bring back something useful to your campus and enhance your own development?
3) Always keep business cards on you at the conference! I keep mine tucked inside my name badge and replenish them each night. You never know when you will get the chance to meet someone new–keep the connection going by sharing contact info.
4) Follow-up, follow-up, follow-up! Keep those conenctions going strong after the confernece by checking in with the new people you met. How will you keep the conversation going? I add peoples’ names to my outlook calendar one and three months after the conference as a reminder to check back in.
Have a great time at the conference! I hope to see you there
